CASSINI I X CONTENDER

Cassini Gold is a new Grand Prix stallion and an exciting sire in Team Nijhof’s stallion string. Cassini Gold was a huge jumping talent as a young horse and was sold to Mexico, where he jumped to 1.60m level with Julio David Vainer. His first crop of offspring are particularly striking for their performances and his pedigree is also very interesting for Dutch and Belgian breeding. 

Cassini Gold stood out as a young horse for his superb jumping technique, reflexes, and scope. His talent was soon noticed and the Cassini I son left for Mexico. With Mexican showjumping rider Julio David Vainer, Cassini Gold eventually jumped successfully up to the 1.60m Grand Prix level and his jumping talents still proved remarkable even at the highest level. 

In addition, his pedigree is very interesting with foundation sires Cassini I, Contender, and Ahorn Z. Cassini Gold’s damline also produced many top showjumpers; for instance, Cassini Gold is the half-brother of the brilliant showjumper Caretina de Joter, who jumped at the highest level with Pius Schwizer and Edwina Tops-Alexander and stood out for her flashy jumping technique. In addition, Cassini Gold is also the half-brother of the 1.60m showjumper Cambito van de Helle. Granddam Glocke produced the 1.60m showjumper Latino. 

In his first years at stud, Cassini Gold produced a limited number of offspring, but his success is undeniable. Examples include Grand Prix jumpers such as Indian Gold of young Swedish rider Ida Selin, Imagine of top Dutch rider Kim Emmen, IV Willem of British young rider Oliver Fletcher, Golden Lady of Jennifer Hochstadter, and K.I. Guru of Keira Stoute. 

All in all, the Grand Prix stallion Cassini Gold has everything to become a true foundation sire. His classic Holstein background and his own sport performances make him very interesting for showjumping breeding and his successful offspring prove value as a sire.
