In 1916 the father of Henk sr. began a mixed cattle company with cows and pigs. He was a true horseman and he founded the riding club in Geesteren. One of the first approved stallions of Team Nijhof was Heraut, who was approved and sold during the stallion show in Bussum in 1946.
When Henk sr. Took over the company a while later, he started to focus more on horses in 1964. The reason for this was that he suffered from a hernia at the age of 21, so he couldn’t fully concentrate on the cattle anymore. However, he has never regretted this decision! Jeannette was not working for the company in the beginning, but when the company gained international status she decided to join the team and help out.
