Denzel van ‘t Meulenhof was bred in Belgium, but as a son of Marius Claudius and grandson of Concorde the genes of the promising sire are familiar for Team Nijhof. In breeding,Denzel van ‘t Meulenhof leaves his mark and producestalented showjumpers time and time again.
Denzel van ‘t Meulenhof was bred out of one of world’s best damlines. Denzel’s dam Narcotique de Muze IV competed at Grand Prix level with Ludo Philippaerts and produced no less than ten international showjumpers. Her son Jenson van ‘t Meulenhof jumps with Niels Bruynseels at the highest level. Denzel van ‘t Meulenhof is also a grandson of the legendary Qerly Chin; this mare stood at the basis of famous horses like I’m Special de Muze, Walnut de Muze, Querlybet Hero, Ensor de Litrange LXI, Horizon de Regor, Toupie de la Roque, Vagabond de la Pomme, Hocus Pocus de Muze, Go Easy de Muze, Giovanni de la Pomme, Sea Coast Ferly, Killer Queen VDM and many others.
From a limited number of coverings, Denzel van ‘t Meulenhof already produced the very talented breeding stallions Nixon van ‘t Meulenhof and Ipsthar. Ridden by Harrie Smolders, the 8-year-old Nixon van ‘t Meulenhof is already jumping at 1.50m level and ridden by Bas Moerings, Ipsthar won the KWPN Blom Cup twice as a 5- and 6-year-old.
In addition, the offspring of Denzel van ‘t Meulenhof are popular with some of world’s best riders; Italy’s leading ladyrider Giulia Martinengo Marquet rides Jotabe B, Intertoff is in the stable of Olympic, European and World champion Jeroen Dubbeldam and USA’s former world number one Kent Farrington bought the talented Jikke-Cara for 325.000 euro at The Youngsters auction. The offspring of Denzel van ‘t Meulenhof stand out for their light-footedness, reflexes and superb canter. They jump with plenty of athletic ability and are modern sporthorses.
